Through the use of audio-visual computer interactive, oil paintings, high polymer figures, bronze murals, photographs and show presentation, students will be able to have a better understanding of Dr Sun's significant contributions.

The democractic reforms that Sun Yat Sen advocated have, in one way or another, made a strong impact on the lives of the Chinese, including the Chinese in Singapore.

Learning Site
Gazetted a national monument in 1994 by the Preservation of Monuments Board, Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall (SYSNMH) - formerly known as Dr Sun Yat Sen Villa or Wan Qing Yuan - was set up to trace Dr Sun Yat Sen's revolutionary activities in the Southeast Asian region.

Once owned by Teo Eng Hock, an overseas Chinese in Singapore, he bought Wan Qing Yuan for his mother's comfort and enjoyment in her old age. Wan Qing Yuan - "a haven of peace in the twlight years" - became the backdrop against which a true story of heroism, nationalism and armed struggle was played in the early 1900s.

After four years of restorative works and funding amounting to more than $8 million, SYSNMH was officially opened by Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew on 12 November 2001.

SYSNMH comprises 6 galleries. Each gallery is tasked with an abundance of historically rich content.
