The National Museum of Singapore's educational programmes aim:
1. to provide opportunities for students to access and use rich and tangible Museums resources to enhance their appreciation and understanding of local heritage and values;
2. to develop critical thinking, creative, motor and social skills using the Museum as the prime resource;
3. to increase the students ability to contextualise local history and values in a global perspective;
4. to inspire students to innovate and create new ideas and products through the appreciation and application of Museums resources;
5. to instil a strong sense of self and community rootedness through increased understanding and enhanced appreciation of diverse local and global cultures and heritage. |

Information |
The National Museum collaborates with students, educators and families to create an active learning environment that engages participants in significant experiences with Singapores history and culture. Through object-centred and guided discussion, the National Museums programmes develop critical thinking skills and foster appreciation for works of art and history. Our emphasis on analytical skills provides imperative support to history studies and socio-cultural discourses as well as other areas of the school curriculum.
