Learning Objectives

With more than 700 exhibits in 7, 500 square metres of exhibition space, the Science Centre aims to make students interested and excited about Science and its application through the programmes it offers. This is achieved by making the exhibits visually appealing, interactive, fun and educational at the same time.

Almost all the exhibition themes in the various galleries are related to what science students will study in schools, and the various programmes of the Science Centre thus effectively complement science teaching at all levels in schools and junior colleges.
 
Learning Site
The Science Centre, a statutory board under the purview of the Ministry of Education, is a non-formal educational institution. The Centre aims to promote interest, learning and creativity in science and technology through imaginative and enjoyable experiences, and in this way, contribute to the nation's development of its human resources.

A general briefing will be given to students at the beginning of the programme.  Worksheets will also be provided upon request.

Charges for the Programmes:
  • SSC Exhibitions
    For all Exhibitions programmes are available free of charge to Institutional Members. For school groups in uniform, each student is charged $2 (Non Institutional Member), for a minimum of 30 students in a group. For school groups below 30 students, normal admission rate applicable ($3.00 for child (3-16yrs) & $6.00 for adult).
  • Omni-Theatre movies
    For Omnimax movie costs $3 for each Primary students and $4 for each Secondary & Pre-university students (for Institutional Members). If the schools are non-Institutional Members, the charges are $4.50 for each Primary student and $8 for each Secondary & Pre-university student. These charges are applicable for groups of 30 or more persons. For school groups below 30 students, normal admission rate applicable($5.00 for child (3-12yrs) & $10.00 for adult).
