The Institute of Technical Education (ITE) is a post-secondary institutionthat provides pre-employment training to secondary school leavers and continuing education and training to working adults.
Established on 1 April 1992, ITE's strengths are in the provision of an all-rounded and multi-disciplinary curriculum, with courses in Applied & Health Sciences, Business & Services, Electronics & Info-Communications Technology and Engineering. Today, ITE is a key contributor to Singapore's transformation into a Knowledge-Based Economy (KBE). ITE is committed to empowering students and adult learners with the skills and knowledge to steer and to drive the new economic engines of Singapore.
ITE has three Colleges: ITE College Central, ITE College East and ITE College West.

The visit to the ITE campus aims to help students understand ITE's role and contributions to nation-building and the significance of technical education to Singapore's economic development. The visit would also help students to appreciate the government's role and the social and economic benefits of providing learning opportunities to learners from all ability groups.
