Learning Objectives

Keen on bringing your classroom to the museum or the museum to your classroom? ACM's School Programmes can help educators and students find out more about the museum and how it can tie in with their subject syllabus.

In addition to the resources, we also conduct and customised workshops for schools, and provide volunteering programmes such as guiding and work experience for students.

NEW!

The Peranakan Museum

The Peranakan Museum explores the main themes of Peranakan life in ten permanent galleries. They include the elaborate 12-day Peranakan wedding, the role of the Nonyas, prominent Peranakans in Singapore’s history, as well as one of the favourite past times of Singaporeans – food and feasting. It also provides a glimpse of how modern-day Peranakans have evolved with their culture.

Additional Information

New! Neither East Nor West Photo Hunt in our Special Exhibition Gallery. The exhibition will run from the 23 Oct 2008 to 1 Feb 2009.

This activity trains the participants’ keen eye for details.
Participants are tasked to spot the differences between the photo portraits on the activity sheet and the actual photo portraits displayed in the ‘Neither East nor West: Asians in Monochrome’ Exhibition. In doing so, they get a glimpse of the unique blend of Western and Eastern influences during the early 20th century as captured in these photo portraits.
